  1. I may be behind the curve here but did you realize you can dehydrate things like slices of zucchini (and many other squash) along w/apples etc? Stored in gallon jars they will keep a long time and re-hydrate wonderfully. And dehydrated apple slices are great snacks. I really enjoy your writing – not as “self centered” as some of the blogs I’ve run across! 🙂 I’m sure you hear this all the time but I started one a while ago and it’s morphed more into essays but started out as prepping and gardening – never sure where it’s going to go next! Keep up the good work 🙂

    • Yes yes! I love dehydrating foods! However, I am waiting for my dear hubby to finish making my solar dehydrator using Mother Earth News magazine detailed instructions I found last year. In the meantime, I have been using my Sun Oven, but that can be a crap shoot unless I am able to watch it very carefully. I dehydrated some green beans last summer and they “over-dried”, so much so that they actually shattered! But, it was a learning experience, so not all was lost. 😉 I didn’t see a link to your blog and I would certainly love to see it, so if you want to you can spell it out (you know… dot com). Thanks for visiting!
